Jeremy Lin has been on fire. I noticed the other night Jeremy Lin bowing to Carmelo Anthony as a sign of celebration.

Could this be a new sensation?
No more Tebowing, Linbowing time.
You heard it first here at rayfil.com, I am coining the term “Linbowing”

A few years ago, I saw Jeremy Lin play in person during a summer league game in my native San Francisco and his first step is amazingly quick. He blew by every defender at will.

But the story of Jeremy Lin is more amazing.

Inspirational story of never giving despite being the underdog.
A true David versus Goliath story.

Jeremy Lin’s chance to be a starting guard for the New York Knicks reminds us that in life there are curve balls but truly they are blessings in disguise.

Growing up in the Bay Area, Jeremy Lin’s dream came true when he played for the Golden State Warrior’s but he had to fight for playing time behind Ellis and Curry.

Next Jeremy Lin headed over to the Rockets and got waived without having a chance to showcase his talents.

Arriving at Madison Square Garden, the center stage of the NBA courts Jeremy Lin got his chance and he shined. He got more exposure than he would have probably ever imagined.

A Chinese Proverb reminds me of his situation.

A famous story is about a farmer who lost his horse. His neighbors told the farmer that he has such bad luck. Days later, the farmer’s horse returned with two more horses. A few days later, the farmer’s son was thrown off riding an untamed horse and broke his leg. Again, the farmer’s neighbor told him that he has such bad luck.

The next day, military officials came to their village to draft young men but because the farmer’s son had a broken leg, the son’s farmer did not have to serve in the military.

Often times, we cry out to the heavens and ask God why certain misfortunes occur. If you look back, what seemed like bad luck was actually a blessing in disguise.

Rayfil K Wong
10:24 am @ Wan Chai Hong Kong
Wednesday 11th, 2011

Dear mommy,

Today I got an email from sis. She was super stressed out from ” bad ” kids in her classroom. Being a teacher, I can only imagine dealing with all the screaming of kids and the endless questions.

Why is paste white?
Why can’t I eat paste?
Why do I have to listen to you?

From life experience, 90% of all stress can be eliminated with ONE secret.

After applying this secret, I improved my happiness by FIVE times.

Look at me, I am HAPPY most of the time. I am often tired, sleepy, but overall I am a very HAPPY Optimistic person.

This was not always the case growing up. I would describe myself as a
shy || low self esteem || lost || pessimistic || kid.

Only in the last seven years of my life, after reading countless self help books and being inspired by mentors have I become who I am now.

Wouldn’t it be great to live a life filled with OPTIMISM + few frustrations

The SECRET is SIMPLE yet HARD

In order to decrease stress, DECREASE the IMPORTANCE of SOMETHING

let me elaborate into proper context

I am talking about decreasing the importance of certain daily events that can alter our JOY level
living in bustling Hong Kong, people literrally BUMP into me and shove me with the. Being new to the city last year, I was frustrated.

I would cringe and steam would be on top of my head. Now, I can care less. NOT important to me.

As an entrepreneur, I get criticized and receive idiotic advice. This bothered me BEFORE.

Meet Rayfil 2.0 …. not IMPORTANT to me.

My point is that don’t let things not worthwhile take us or derail us off the TRAIN tracks. Small PEOPLE talk about SMALL things.

They bicker about the bad service at a cheap fast food restaurant.
They complain about how they got rejected by a bouncer @ a club.

Get over it. Focus on spending TIME with your loved once. Let me restate this. Be PASSIONATE about your loved ONES. DECREASE the IMPORTANCE or ATTENTION or the MINOR events in your life.

Trust me. I have been applying this the past few years of my LIFE. Overall, despite facing tragedy including a best friends passing away of a heart attack, business + financial losses, + losing friends due to their own childish jealousy issues, I AM on TOP.

Vibrant + extremely thankful.

Especially with things in life we can not control, never FRET or stress over.

Sincerely,

While sucking on the head of sea sweet shrimp off the Sai Kung harbor, I dined with fellow entrepreneurs last night in Hong Kong.

We discussed the qualities needed to be successful as an entrepreneur or even as a person.

Nowadays, we hire SMART aka IQ especially for roles such as analyst.
Nowadays, we hire PEOPLE SKILLS aka EQ especially for roles such as SALES. (hi touch|soft skills)

Nowadays, when we invest in a company, we are investing in their CEO. We are looking for their AQ aka adversity quotient.

When the wind blows, when the earth shatters, when a recession guards our heart, are we able to keep our cool (emotions) and continue to put on our blinders like the stallion racing toward the goal.

Can they solve problems?
Can they stay positive?

One guy I met is Tracy Morgan. He told me to embrace all the bad times since this helps us grow our Character.

so whether you’re looking to invest in an entrepreneur or invest your entire life with a soul mate, don’t forget to examine their AQ adversity quotient.

She told me that Dork means “whale penis”

I was utterly confused. After research in the urban dictionary, DORK means “whale penis”

lesson learned. Be careful what we say.

Often times in life, we often say things we don’t mean + perhaps out of context.

This can even make or break a major business deal.

Just a fun entertaining night.

When I was a stellar sales super star, I learn that two things close a deal.

+ choice of words
+ tone of voice

recently, I have been so annoyed by people who can’t talk. Their brains are scattered + I just feel as if I just wasted my time.

So I think people should talk ONLY under these 3 Situations

1:: to entertain. make a joke or inspire me.

2:: to educate/inform.

3:: toward goal. words that bring me closer to the goal.

Everything else is waste of time.

I love the video above. Great beat + great message. Never Say Never.

This week, my mommy told me that one of her friend had a pair of nephews that committed suicide. Later on this week, I had a friend send a note,

“I Tried to Kill Myself”

Alright, this post is for all you guys out there thinking your life is a piece of crap. Just to share, I have had my share of broken times. Business failure, lost a few loved ones to heart attack/suicide, + also just things not going well.

When things get tough, I rejoice. Why? Character is only built when we face and deal with hardships.

Proper perspective is also key.

Is your glass 1/2 full or 1/2 empty?

If you just lost your job, this is a great opportunity to rest, travel, or change careers.

One thing I love about living in Hong Kong is the range I see in terms of social economic backgrounds.

I know people who live in $10,000 a month apartments but I also have seen old ladies push wagons carrying card board boxes in the middle of the night.

So don’t despair when you’re faced with difficulties.

Take a chill pill.

Watch a comedy, eat some chocolate, but never toss around ideas of SUICIDE.

Everything starts with what we think, so protect our thoughts, cherish life, and be content with the PRESENT.

cheers

I am an extremely happy person.

No I did not win the lottery …
No I did not just marry a princess from some wealthy nation

I am simply happy because I understand what makes me happy

I learned early in life that

{80% of a person’s happiness is because because of their relationship with other people}

in general, I have a healthy relationship with my family members + friends. so rock on!

many of my friends go through life seeking, wait actually devoting their lives to finding happiness!

yet they forget that happiness does not come when you’re rich or when you’re famous. as a matter of fact, more problems may arise when you’re rich.

happiness is a state of mind, a state of contentment .. to say to yourself,

{I AM JUST FINE THE WAY THINGS ARE AT THIS VERY MOMENT}

{I love the PRESENT}

so I am thankful, that despite Campusfork.com not taken off yet, despite the fact that my site crashed this past Saturday night, I AM A VERY HAPPY PERSON

so I encourage my friends to foster great relationships with their family + friends.

there will be haters out there, friend that are jealous of you, don’t waste your time.

DUMP THEM after trying to make mends.

Never chase after the winds. I have left friendships after betrayal with the vision to foster new ones. I have left business relationship after idiotic instances with the vision to foster new ones.

Cheers
