Blessed Misfortunes
A Chinese proverb describes a farmer who lost his horse. His neighbors told the farmer that he has such bad luck. Days later, the farmer’s horse returned with two more horses. A few days later, the farmer’s son was thrown off riding an untamed horse and broke his leg. Again, the farmer’s neighbor told him that he has such bad luck. The next day, military officials came to their village to draft young men but because the farmer’s son had a broken leg, he was passed over.
Often times, we cry out to the heavens and ask God why certain misfortunes occur. If you look back, God may have protected you from certain dangers.
