Dear mommy,
Great weekend.
I had 3 meals in a row eating Vietnamese + went to Take Out Comedy Club featuring Paul Ogata.
On Friday, my friend Apple (female) asked me about making life decision. She had been recently engaged and may need to move from Hong Kong to United States.
She asked me appearing frantic about New York city.
“Is it hard to make friends?”
“Is it safe?”
At the very end, I reminded her that in life, THERE IS NO BIRTH WITHOUT PAIN.
Yes, change is hard.
Yes, change may make you cry.
But there is good news.
Change makes you a stronger person + builds character.
Just like boxing, the boxer takes a blow each time during practice. But he get tougher each time his body take the impact. Muscles will continue to get stronger only with these bows, so there is no need to avoid them.
Blows in these case can mean a recent break up, friendship betrayal, or a surprising layoff.
Another hint I tell people is to gather accurate information.
If you’re about to move to New York, try making a visit first.
At the very end, you really don’t know how cold or warm the swimming pool water is until you jump in.
