Yelp Elite Party San Francisco 2008

(in a deep narrative voice)
The Following Scenes Occurred Between 8pm -11p

Mission:in a three hour window-eat: drink, dance, laugh out loud as much and often as I could

As I hip hopped through the glass door, immediately my senses were heightened. Damm

Ambiance:
Exploratorium was a great pick. With its playful exhibits, the mile high ceiling created a festive vast air space. I have not returned since my RICE BOWL haircut days in 5th grade.

It was a cross between return to innocence with a dash on playful synergy. Racing toward the open bar, “Gin tonic.”
I like it quick and strong.

As my red Asian flushed face starting its journey, I opened up my seemingly small Asian eyes, there were too many eye candy.

“Take care of the beer belly first”

In a vibrant orange red tone, the lobster bisque stole the show.
Just a few elbows away, the pillowy-like hamachi on skewers from Red Crane was memorable. Tender beef sliders rounded my list of great bites.

“Oh my gosh, you look so familiary,” stated a tall full bodied Asian girl.
My default response “Bruce Lee is my uncle.” Always give them a puzzled look. So I gave her my number and danced away. After all, she was holding up my excursion and creative escape.

The last thing on my mind was hook up city.
As a relative newcomer to Yelp, it is more about meeting characters.

Marian G, a baby boomer and the one that draws creative pictures on her reviews, that was someone worth talking to.

Randy, who has been mistaken as my “twin” was jovial as predicted.

Growing up in my cheap ass Asian family, my instincts started to kick in. As a well trained freeloader, I had repulse against my senses. There were too many things to see, to many things to eat, in too little window of time.

Creative balloon artist, (note, not clown) excites the mind with hand made balloon turning them into caricatures.

Over excited jump ropers performing double scotch. Even rides were provided for the booz lovers.

As a recap, it was a brilliant playful experience.

Yelp: I give props to Yelp. On my virgin Holiday Party, they hit the point. While most startups spend their ad dollars on billboards and lack luster events, Yelp hits the spot by rewarding dedicated members with a blast.

Sounds like an awesome party! I was going to come up for this party but no one would drive up with me! Sadly the OC and LA Elite Event parties were not as nice as the “Pley” party! At least I can feel like I was there in spirit because Marian G. was gracious enough to mail me a swag bag! ^_-

  2. Randy says:

Nice review. And hilarious too. BTW my Yelp monniker is
Randy F. I got confused with another Randy that night.

As for the tall bodied Asian, I hope you followed up. Food, friends, and fun!

    Good meeting you at PLEY.
